She used to write the news, you see
A journalist, she used to be
But now she's found a different path
A teacher, she's become at last

15 years have passed since she last worked
But now she's ready, undeterred
To share her love of language and culture
With students, young and full of vivre

She'll teach them words and grammar, too
And guide them in their Spanish fluency
She'll share her passion, wild and true
For this beautiful, melodic tongue

So here's to you, my dear wife
I'm proud of all you'll do in life
You'll be the best Spanish teacher
I know you'll do it with no further
