Due to massive traffic we cut by route 3 and Sagamore Bridge appeared from an unusual perspective.

Coming back to the Cape with Blake from a great Crimson Puck session.
The other side’s lake beach is a bit longer and steeper to reach but it offers more privacy as the beach is much smaller.

First time this trip that we are taking lunch after a high tide beach session. The three fools did not disappoint, between wings, gyros and subs.

We went for a little nappy break and returned for low tide wave session. Epic, it was colder than the morning, but some good waves, for Pappi a 100% wave- riding success rate closly followed by Blake, who just lost one… Knox and Siena remained out of the competition. They were riding crazy good.

Invigorating!
Knox selected Levi Strauss as his bottle buddy project. Siena contributed her old jeans that did not fit her anymore.

Visiting Susanne … and getting the local stuff.

Water finally arrived at the pool and after some reminding Ivan and Gisele were able to make sure the pool frame would be in excellent shape for the rest of the year. We only see discrepancies of slightly over an inch along the waterline of the rim.
Even as it turned cold, Siena could not resist to enter the pool… Go figure!

Markus continues his quest for good German treats. Today, Gaffel Kölsch und home made jam from cherry, red currant and raspberries. There was also of course some homegrown mint tea offered.
My sister Margret, the oldest of the Bonner Paus kids, invited us over for a slumber drink and we ended up visiting the incredible garden, eating all kind of berries (red and black current, straw and raspberries … and more).
Markus took the testing quite serious as you can see; it was a wonderful short visit.

We went to the very nice Rheinlust Biergarten, this time, the hour not being too late, the river Rhein was clearly visible. Markus went for the ‘Ana classic’ the Currywurst mit Pommes/weiss (Mayo only) und ein Kölsch natürlich. He loved both beer and Currywurst and brought up the common question: Why don’t we have this in the U.S.? Well, that is a good question but we know why!
Martin joined us arriving on his fine bike without chain and just a v-belt. We learned from him that he climbs now since twenty years and has fixed partner in crime. His hands and most importantly his forerarms speak volumes of the routes he must have climbed bz now.
All good otherwise, we had a great time!
