One of of those lonely weekends was coming up and on Friday morning I realized that I had made amazing progress with my to do list, the one I keep to make sure work will stay organized. I was thinking about the weekend plan and in fact there was not too much to do. I also thought about my brother Seb who had been visiting us in Boston not too long ago and it hit me. I h ad never visited him since he moved to Switzerland, not even as I was spending probably about 50% of my time in Switzerland. So, I made a plan to go visit him for one day and be back at CERN someday later on Sunday to make sure the to do list would not suffer too much.<\/p>\n
I called my brother and told him I would be coming the same night, he said it would be great, I got a few hours later to the train station and hopped on the train. It was a direct one and supposed to arrive after about 4 hours. I got out at St. Gallen where Seb picked me up a little before midnight. We had a smooth ride through the swiss country side and I was reminded again how on the map a drive can look straight forward but once on the ground it becomes long. Not uncommon in Switzerland \ud83d\ude09 During our ride Seb was playing some music and after some searching he skipped to Bernhoft a Norwegian musiciant I had just recently discovered randomly browsing through odd music on youtube. What a coincidence!<\/p>\n
We arrived at Seb’s place and we grabbed a nice local good swiss beer and chatted along. Great to have a brother and just chat about what is going on. In such conversations it is comforting and kind of amazing to have the connection of having grown up together and gone through a whole bunch of stuff together. Things I usually even do not remember but they are all there. Cool to have brothers and sisters!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
