Kids came home from college, we cleaned the basement …. now a lunch at the Yardhouse, loving it.

The work is done. Listening to the ‘good’ Playlist after lawn is cleaned and watered.

And the 15 yard container is filled.

Maybe another pass through the yard and the basement and then it is fulllll.
… but power stayed up but the metal pole at the side of the house was ripped down. Also, no internet.

A Nor’Easter is rolling in this weekend. As it happens we emptied our over the ground pool and had planned for packing it up this weekend…. but the rain starts tomorrow.
Therefore I am heading home early today to wrap thing up with Ivi who already pumped out the remaining puddles and towel dried the liner. All set for a quick wrap.

It took us 1.5 hours, including really everything. Not bad. Of course a little burn to finish up followed

Our driveway needs a hedge all along our property line. And our front hedge is way too tightly planted. It had at least three rows of bushes planted or selfplanted over over the years that it was a jungle… now the driveway hedge has just received the last three bushes from the front.

Over the years this project has been a 100 percent success as you can see from the progression of the hedge. In two years it is going to be perfectly tight, and the front is going to be very nice and tight again, too. There are probably five or six more big bushes to move into various location. Forsythias are my absolute favorites for a hedge: they are beautiful, tight and easy to maintain in our yard.

Bei Susanne im Garten.

Water finally arrived at the pool and after some reminding Ivan and Gisele were able to make sure the pool frame would be in excellent shape for the rest of the year. We only see discrepancies of slightly over an inch along the waterline of the rim.
Even as it turned cold, Siena could not resist to enter the pool… Go figure!
Siena and I setup the pool… well Blake was of course the big helper for the hard stuff. It went quite well but with everything took about 3hr. The pool description is A-BBBB-C for the sidebars and D-E-F for the short head and tail…. Some cleaning is still needed but it is fine.

Added another three 60lb bags of extra strength concrete and now waiting for it to cure and then setting the basic cinderblock level for the stairs.
