—- Valentine’s Day —-
When contractions get more intense Ana gets the epidural (around midnight). Afterwards we are ready for bed and I make my little bed and we get some good sleep. Around 3:04 the water breaks and things should intensify. Dilation is up to 6 cm now, still Ana is going slowely. Around 5:06 the doctor comes by and they decide to give Ana Pitocin to intensify the labor. Ana vomits her stomach empty in many small steps from now maybe induced by the Pitocin, or just because of the contractions.
Shortly before seven, Brenda our nurse comes by to say ‘bye bye’ because she is off duty at seven, Deborrah is next in line to take care of Ana. Doctor Frangel is on duty until 1pm.
Deborah gives Ana a refresh in the pushing, and all is quite clear. Markus could get on his way now 🙂 We are waiting. Ana is trying to get some rest. It is 7:26 now.
9:00 Cervix is fine now, we are at about 10cm dilation, ready to go, need to find the doctor, they are doing a scheduled C-section.
9:27 Dr. Weeks and Frangel are doing the C section but finishing up. Dr. Weeks is probably going to do the delivery.
9:35 Dr. Weeks arrives, two pushes and the baby is out…..
9:54 is the time of birth (remember Ivan was 0:54). He was blue when he came out head first and had the cord around his neck, pretty much like Ivan. Also the hair matched.
Markus' vitals are Weight: 9 pound 7 1/2 Size: 21 inches Head: 38 cm
He is a real big guy. Everything is fine with him. He has dark eyes, but lighter than Ivan and is a real sucker because he sucks on Mummy’s breasts about 30min after birth.
Meanwhile Ana pressed out the remainders and they come in one piece without further problem. All looks very healthy. Ana needs two little stiches because of small ruptures. The doctor is very content and thinks she has done very well. Stuff they make the movies of.
