My favorite buddy. Always a smile.

My favorite buddy. Always a smile.

Who could say ‘no’ to this smile?
All right friends, time to hit the hay…. still wondering why Saturday did not feel like weekend at all 🙂
Played football today, the first time since a longer break (is it 10 years already?).
It was fun and I am not that slow, at least not before I pulled my hamstring….. Will have to take a few days break.
Since I have started my ternure as a Higgs co-convener of the Higgs group at CMS I have been travelling at an insane rate across the Atlantic Ocean. Staying connceted to the family is of course very important and we have been using skype with lots of success. The video is sometimes inspiring as it was last night when Ana was sitting in a mostly dark room together with Blake and some light from the front…. The impressions on my screen were almost artistic.
🙂

Ruhe in Frieden mein alter Freund!
Just a quick entry for my son Markus whom i had to think of when I found a visitor in my office. I had worked a long night, a beautiful lush one, leaving the window open. I had not payed much attention to what was going on in the office apart from the tea machine and the computer, so I did not realize that the light attracted a number of visitors. Only the morning afterwards I noted my visitor a beautiful large moth. Markus likes insects since I can remember, so here a photo for Marki.
Today is mother’s day…. and I have not spoken to my mum in a l long time. She had hip replacement surgery and is in a rehabilitation center and we only speak through my father. She is doing fine I hear: “Go, mum!!”. Sometimes she reads the news from the PausHaus, so here are some hearty greetings and a big thank you to my mum for being my mum. I attach some nice photos from Ivan’s first communion because I know she likes them.

… and as I am again at CERN and cannot congratulate my wife for being a terrific mother to our children, here a big thank you and a kiss. I will call later.

Work more with your bare hands in the garden or use gloves. Three planted trees later.
